GILGIT: Wallets to take the heat as Winter force people to keep houses warm
Early arrival of the harsh winter has increased the demand for locally manufactured stoves in Gilgit-Baltistan. The stoves consume a lot of firewood and this also increase the demand and prices of wood in the wood scarce areas of Gilgit-Baltistan. Electric heaters are considered not reliable due to power shortage and increase in bills.
Demand and prices of warm cloths, blankets, quilts, dried fruits and different heating appliances have increased manifold.
