The services of Subedar (Retired) Noor Ghulam is countless for our country, area and for Ghulkin village particularly. After his retirement from Pakistan army he was on the front line in the social and rural development programs as community activist. For a long period of time he rendered services in the Imamat institutions especially his skills and intellectual approach in solving disputes in the community. I would like to pay homage and tribute to this personality who is not with us today physically, but his services and contributions for our community will be remember forever.

I offer my heartfelt sympathy to his sons, daughters and the entire family members on this unrepairable loss.

I am feeling a great sorrow to hear this badnews that we lost one of our community leaders. On this occasion, I would like to extend my cordial condolence to Ahmad Karim, Salim and the late’s siblings, daughters and all closed relatives.

  13. This is a sad news indeed and a great loss for the whole area. He was a man of vision and commitment. When I was assoicated with KADO in Hunza, I got ample chances to work with Ghulkin Social Welfare and Conservation Association. As mentioned by Qayyum, Subedar saheb was always at the forefront to discuss matters in depth. He used to think and talk like a veteran professional and it was not an easy task to discuss things if they are half-baked. He was a real inspiration for me and I have very special regards for him. As a reality of life, Subedar saheb is no more with us but I am sure that his work and services will always keep him alive in the history.

I pay my sincere sympathies and condolence to his family members on behalf of myself and my family. May Allah bless his soul with eternal peace and give his family the courage to withstand this great loss (Aamin).

  25. I am truly shocked to know about the death of my brother Subidar Noor Ghulam a well renown social worker and a great human being. I knew about his illness and along my family my wife my daoughters Samina, & Shahina had met him in CMH hospital few days back and spent few days with him. The death of Noor Ghulam is a great loss for the whole community in general and Ghulkin in Particular. God bless his soul in permanent peace and give strength to the family to bear this great loss, (Ameen). This is the reality of the life- one day we will also be no more in this world but such people’s, inspiration, dedication and hard work remains open for individuals to continue and complement efforts in peace, innovation, creativity and dissemination of knowledge in capacity building of people in improving well being of most needed people which is most desirable.
Along my friend Dr. Nayamat and his family from Afghanistan, we strongly extend our heartiest condolence to the family and friends of Late Noor Ghulam. I personally appreciate his younger son Ahmed Saleem for his excellent contribution during this difficult time and spent day and night with his father at hospital and showed his great commitment and sincerity to his father. 27. Very shocking moment! Gul Baig along with other friends and myself were present at CMH Pindi. I did see him, 20 minutes before he lost his life. I along with my family used to visit him frequently at CMH. What a great man ! with exceptional strong will. He knew what is he fighting against! but never lost hope and confidence till the last moment.
It was very encouraging to see most of Pindi and Islamabad based Wakhi were right at the janaza prayer in Pindi JK.

Uncle Nur Ghulam ( Subedar ) was one of the few bright persons of his generation. I had nice time with him in Skardu during late 80’s, when he was serving for Pak Army. I had shared highly positive comments about Uncle’s seniors with Saleem, his son.
I could not make it to go with the dead body and I feel sorry for that.
A man of strong conviction and character, God may rest his soul in permenent peace.

I would like to forward condolance to the family members and and relatives.

I think his son Saleem provided an exceptional care, support and facilitation to his father during his stay at CMH which was most needed!

    God bless you Saleem.

  28. Dear readers of PT,
The laws of nature can not be changed and whatever is predestined does happen and one can not move to resist it, conform it, or change its intrinsic nature.
It takes me to the time when I had a chance to sit in the panel of the local arbitration board for Gulmit, which was being mounted for the resolution of a critical issue which had deepened because of some rivalries of a bit different kind. The issue was hard to be resolved in practical as there were strong reservations and antagonism. Everything seemed to be totally anomalous and intricated. Keeping in view the criticality of the situation, an eloquent person raised a motion so effectively that many stouted hearts melted at once and deliberately in a very smooth manner that one could not imagine if there was any issue persistent. I went on observing the approach he adopted to handle the issue and ultimately found that he was a person equipped with all the utensils that had made him overgo in various issues and was more updated and more anxious then a common man. His soft nature and kindness had created a soft corner in many hearts and had put a long lasting effect on many exceptional nerves. Unfortunately we have the very honorable personality no more with us in this treacherous world and perhaps had embarked on with the aim to get to the actual destination that was awaiting him like many other good souls to dwell in for infinite time.
I pray for the eternal peace of the departed soul and may MHI bestow him with blessings (Ameen).
His services in different capacities in Jamati activities are highly appreciated and would always remain as beautiful commemorate in many minds.
I would like to show my deepest sympathy to the braved family including Ustad Mohtaram Sifat,Uncle Haider Baig,Uncle Aman,Saleem Bhai(his son),Karim Rehman,Ali Rehman,Muhammad Ali,Fayyaz Bhai, and all those whose names just skipped from my mind.

No doubt, late Subedar Saheb was a visionary person and served for the community for a long time. He was with so many merits that we experienced at various levels as a man of great discipline, committed, calculated and articulated speaker and a good mediator. Ever since hearing the news I have had images of Uncle and one of the enduring ones is him at the Conciliation and Arbitration Panel (CAP) being hugely efficient, working incredibly hard but at the same time bieng caring and concerned. I feel privileged being related to Uncle and will always treasure his vision, guidance and commitment.

My thoughts and prayers go out to baaji Shaeem and bHabi Naeem, Karim, Jabeen and Saleem who have lost their true champion and are left impoverished. Although finding reasons for such a loss is impossible, I pray that may the departed soul rest in eternal peace and may the words, thoughts and prayers expressed here on this blog and elsewhere be of some comfort to you all (Aameen).
