PT Report

Islamabad, August 5: Leader of the Pakistan Muslim League, Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, has said that the revised admission criteria would be waived for students of Gilgit – Baltistan who seek admission in medical colleges of Punjab. He has reportedly said that the percentage required for admission would be lowered from 60 to 40 % to facilitate the students. This information was shared with the media by Hafiz Hafeez ur Rehman, leader of PML (N) in Gilgit – Baltistan.

Nawaz Sharif has also reportedly promised to visit Gilgit before Ramadan and distribute cheques among the victims of Attabad disaster in a week’s time. He has also assured the regional PML(N) leadership of his support for those affected by the recent rains and floods.

It is pertinent to note here that a group of GB students had protested against revision of the admission requirements in front of the parliament.
