Noor Bakshi Pir's entry in SKardu banned by district administration

Gilgit, April 12: The District Administration has imposed ban on a religious leader of the Noor Bakhshia sect, Syed Muhammad Shah Noorani, from entering Skardu, citing law and order situation.
Acting Commissioner of Baltistan Division, Erqam Tariq, talking to the media has said that the step has been taken to avoid any “unpleasant event” in the city. He said all necessary steps had been to maintain religious harmony in the region.
Mean while in a statement Syed Muhammad Shah Norani terming the ban un just has blamed the administration of failing to fulfil its responsibilities.
It is pertinent to note that for a couple of weeks the sectarian harmony in Skardu city has been tense due to repeated wall-chalking against a particular sect.
The local people have been expressing suspicion that external forces are trying to destabilize Baltistan by flaring sectarian disharmony.
