Syllabus is not being changed, GB to have own Text Book Board

Gilgit, March 15: Gilgit-Blatistan government has decided to make “Gilgit – Baltistan Text Book Board”, within 6-7 months. Directives have been issued in this regard to the Minister for Education, said Chief Minister Mehdi Shah while talking to the media.

He also said before legislation all the stake holders will be consulted.

Rejecting rumors and concerns raised by certain sections, the Chief Minister said that there was no plan for changing the syllabus. “We are trying to implement an accord reached by representatives of Ahl-e-Sunnat and Ahl-e-Tashi”, he said.

Replying a query about the law and order situation Mehdi Shah said situation in Gilgit was under control and security forces were high alert to stop any untoward incident.
