Gilgit: Injured journalist and his cousin out of danger

Gilgit, September 10: Two cousins, including journalist Shakir and Naeem, an employee of the PRCS, were attacked in Bargo area yesterday morning by unknown assailants. Both sustained bullet wounds and were rushed to the Kashrote hospital for treatment, where they are said to be out of danger.
The firing incident sparked fear in the city yet again. Hundreds came out to protest the attack and blocked the Ghizer road.
The protesters demanded arrest of the attackers and demanded of the GB government to restore peace to the region.
It is pertinent to note that one day before the incident two influential clerics had met and condemned all types of violence and terrorism, while promising to join hands for restoration of peace.
People have expressed the fear that some hidden forces are trying to sabotage the peace process and send the region back to chaos.
