Gilgit, November 15: The 10th day of Muharram, the first month of Islamic Calendar was peacefully observed across Gilgit-Baltistan, with religious zeal and zest. Huge processions were organized by Shia organizations in Gilgit, Hunza-Nagar, Baltistan, Astore and other parts of the region to remember the sacrifices of Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A) and his companions during the war of Kaballa.

Hazrat Imam Hussain and his 72 companions were martyred then by an army led by Yazeed and his army in a brutal and inhumane manner.
