Hunza, May 9: Speaker Wazir Baig said that women of Gilgit-Baltistan are full of potentials and gradually they are playing an important role in the development of the region. He said that the women and men of the society need to progress by leaving fear and hatred behind and moving towards a more equal society. He was speaking at an entrepreneurship conference organized by AKRSP and KADO, here in Hunza Valley.

The Speaker, who is an elected representative from the area, thanked the two organizations for bringing women from across Gilgit-Baltistan to Hunza for sharing entrepreneaurial experiences. He said that in many spheres women are working shoulder-to-shoulder with men.

Speaking at the occasion, Belgium’s ambassador, Peter Claes said that his country’s government would extend every possible support for development of the women of Pakistan. He said that Belgium wants to maintain a friendly relationship with the country.

The entreprenurship conference, which also included a display of handicrafts and artisans-at-work show was attended by women entrpreneaurs from Astore, Ghizar, Gilgit, Baltistan and Hunza-Nagar.
