Amjad Ayub reelected Chairman of KADO, “Vision 2020” approved by general body
Hunza, June 30: The 15th Annual General Meeting of the Karakuram Area Development Organization (KADO) was held on 29th June, 2014 at Karimabad Hunza. The General Body members re-elected Mr. Amjad Ayub as the new Chairman and Mr. Ain Ul Hayat as the Vice Chairman. Mr. Atta Ullah Baig (AKRSP), Mr. Muhammad Mustafa (DD Agriculture) and Mrs. Naeema Mehrban were elected as the new Board of Directors while Mr. Nawab Ali Khan, Mr. Ali Madad and Mr. Jan Alam retired from the board.
Other Directors of KADO are; Dr. Babar Khan, Mr. Ghulam Amin Baig, Eng. Amanuallah, Mr. Muhammad Muzaffar, Mrs. Ferhat Bano and Mr. Muhammad Ibrahim
1/3rd of the Directors retire each year whereas the Chairman and Vice Chairman are elected for three years. Chairman and Vice Chairman can hold the office for two terms.
KADO is an indigenous development organization owned by the community of Hunza. This organization has 18 years reach history of community development. The governance of the organization lies with the community of the region but its operations is spread all over Gilgit-Baltistan. The community representatives form the general body which through a democratic process elect their 9 members Board of Directors, Chairman and Vice Chairman.
