Nawaz forms committee to propose constitutional package for AJK & GB

Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has approved  a high-level committee to propose  constitutional packages for the empowerment of Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. The representatives of foreign, interior, defense, finance ministries and representatives of ministries of Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan will be included in the constitutional committee.

The constitutional package is expected to be announced before the upcoming election in Gilgit-Baltistan.

The PML-N government in Islamabad was under fire due to the appointment of a non-local Governor in Gilgit-Baltistan by making amendments in the Self Government Order 2009.
