KIU to organize int’l conference on Mountains and Climate Change

Islamabad, September 15: The Karakuram International University Gilgit is to organize International Conference on Mountains And Climate Change Resources, Challenges and Opportunities for Better Life and Livelihood.

According to the details published by the Varsity‘s website the conference will jointly be organized by Forests, Wildlife & Environment Department, Gilgit-Baltistan WWF-Pakistan Mountain Agriculture Research Centre of PARC, Aga Khan Rural Support Programme, EVK2CNR Pakistan, ICIMOD, Department of Agriculture Gilgit-Baltistan, and Karakoram  International University, Gilgit. The Three Day International Conference will  start on 17th of this month and will end up on the September 19th.

The three day International conference will bring number of foreign academicians together to share their work on environmental impacts on the mountainous areas.

The students and faculty of the Karakoram International University are confident that such mega academic events will enhance the trend of research in the university.  They are also of the view that the national and international experts on environment coming from various universities of the world will surely bring new ideas for development in different sectors of lives in the mountain rich areas of Gilgit-Baltistan.

It is the time for Government of Gilgit-Baltistan to invest more and more funds on such research activities in different fields so that by incorporating these research work in the future policies the area can show an excellent development despite of the geographical barriers.
