Chief Secretary’s remarks being used out of context, says Info Dept

Gilgit: Gilgit-Baltistan Information Department, in a Facebook post, has said that the highly controversial remarks of the Chief Secretary  are being used out of context, by “selectively sharing parts of a video.”

The information department has dispelled the notion that the Chief Secretary wanted to insult the public.

“The same person had for five times used anti-state remarks against Pakistan, on the pretext of appointing a gynecologist”, said that post.

“Some elements are trying to start a propaganda based on the ‘edited video’, the Information Department’s unnamed official posted.

Today, a short video clip emerged on social media, in which the Chief Secretary can be seen angrily rebuking a person (whose face is not visible in the video), and asking him how much tax does he pay. The Chief Secretary also says that Pakistan is spending a 100 billion rupees on Gilgit-Baltistan.

Social media has erupted with angry responses from people of Gilgit-Baltistan, who are now demanding suspension and transfer of the Chief Secretary.
