Victims of arson and violence in Gilgit still waiting for help
Farman Karim Baig
Gilgit, October 19: Leaders and activists of Naujawanan-e-Ahl-e-Sunnat criticised the GB government for failing to compensate people whose houses had been burnt to ashes in Yaadgaar Mohallah, around two months back. They demanded justice and compensation for the victims.
Addressing the gathering speakers demanded shifting of the GB Secretariat to Jutial area of Gilgit which, they said, is relatively peaceful. They also demanded increase in the number of FC and Ranger personnel deployed for security in the capital city of Gilgit – Baltistan.
The speakers accused the NA Police of harrasing the party’s activists by indicting them in false cases.
These foolish persons should realise the fact that the non-local FC (Pathans) and rangers (Punjabis) may not be sincere to this region. Due to these elements and non-local bureaucrates there is no peace and prosperity in Gilgit. such comments could not be stated by dwellers of Gilgit Baltistan. These are the comments of non-local elements who disguised as GB dwellers. It is amazing and shocking that instead of local police and nascent Northern Scouts, the non locals are preferred. Government as well as the people of GB should not take attention on such statements of these narrow-minded and traiters.
