Independence Day celebrated in Hunza
HUNZA, November 01: The people of Hunza paid homage to the martyrs of the Gilgit-Baltistan liberation war in a gathering organised at Aliabad, in connection with the 63th Independence Day.
A large number of notables, Government officials and youth were present to witness the flag hoisting ceremony. Speakers paid tributes to the war veterans and urged the youth to take charge of the present and future of the region. They said the war heroes from Hunza played a leading role in the liberation movement and the first martyr of the war, Amir Hayat, hailed from Hunza.
The speakers also criticised the Kashmiri leaders for opposing political reforms introduced by Islamabad in the region. Gilgit-Baltistan is not part of the disputed Kashmir and the region was directly annexed with Pakistan, they said. They appreciated the new political reforms in Gilgit-Baltistan and stressed the need to introduce complete autonomy in order to decrease deprivation and marginalisation in the region.
Indeed with do not have any affiliations with kashmiries except our moral support for their freedom movement. so they should come out from the traditional claiming. for the name of kashmir, we have been deprived from our basic rights. otherwise we would have become the constitutional part of pakistan. the people of pakistan must understand the matter and need to preserve their freedom.
