Organizers appeal for support during January 4 Black Day Rally in Islamabad

Islamabad, December 3: The people of Gilgit Baltistan across Pakistan are preparing to observe January 4, 2011 as a Black Day. This day is being observed to record protest and dissatisfaction over pace of the work related to drainage of the dammed river and delays in rehabilitation of the affected people.
A protest demonstration will be held in Islamabad on 4th January 2011, by students and professionals belonging to different parts of Gilgit – Baltistan. A rally will start from China Chowk (Blue Area) at 2:30 pm hours towards the National Press Club, which will be followed by a press conference at 3:30 pm to highlight the issues and challenges faced by the people of Gojal Hunza because of the Attaabad Disaster and Lake.
The organizers, “Youth and Professionals from GB” have requested reporters and representatives of print and electronic media to support them during the protest rally and provide due coverage.
