MLA Mutabiat Shah appointed as member of PARC

Islamabad, January 19: MLA Mutabiat Shah has been appointed as member of the Pakistan Agriculture Research Council for a period of three years. Notification of his appointment has been issued by the competent authority.

It is pertinent to note that Mr. Mutabiat Shah is the first person from GB to be appointed a member of the PARC. Locals have hailed the decision and hoped that the MLA will use his experience of rural development for improvement of means of livelihood in the Gilgit – Baltistan region.

Agriculture,for sure,is the backbone of our country’s economy.Involving about 65 percent of the population,this sector requires much more to be done.Major researches from biotecnology and genetics have revived a new reanisance to agriculture.PARC one one of the approaches to explore the domains of research.
    The members include high caliber scientists,nd has done much to this sector.
    Apart from our major cash crops, there are numerous plants of medicinal importance in our flora.These pants with most of them occuring in the north, should be cultivated as cash crops-which can save billions,which we spend on importing the raw materials.GB has most of the potential in the country.
    Its a matter of huge appreciation that Mr Mutabiat shah has been one of part of the great cause.
