ISLAMABAD, Mar 2 (APP): President Asif Ali Zardari Friday accorded assent to Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University Act that provides establishment of the University in health and other sciences.The bill for the university was passed by the National Assembly on January 16, and by the Senate on February 10.The Islamabad-based University is envisaged to be a non-profit institution set up in the private sector.The Chancellor of the university would be elected by the Chancellor Election Council from amongst its members comprising all members of the Board of Governors of the Shifa Foundation and Tameer-e-Millat Foundation.
