  3. Although what Hakeem has said is largely true as the election poll reflects the opinion of a tiny educated minority who are hooked up to the internet most of the time. But i think he misses the point that it is the educated young generation who will be opinion makers, agents of positive change, and who could bring real and palpable change in our society. Ghuzamfar has long stood the test of time and our people have given him undeserved amount of respect and support over the last two decades.
Time and again Ghuzamfar has simply failed to live upto the expectations of the publci so it is time now to ditch him forever. I know that Hakeem sahip wants to keep him alive as a museum piece which is really welcome as long as Ghuzamfar is willling to do so. I know that you also want to keep roylaty in Hunza and your sources of inspiration are the British monarchy. But i would sadly note that the Mir of Hunza and the British monarchy are two systems whcih are light years apart. I would bemoan for Hakeem sahip for not examining the selfish, vile and foolish policies followed by Ghuzamfar during his time as the representative of the people of Hunza. Time and again he has let us down so i am wondering why we should continue to extend unquestioned support to Ghuazamfar. Even if majority of our older generation do support the Mir then i think we should do our best to convince them and tell them how our political future would look like without power-hungry yet unwise people like Ghuzamfar.

  4. Though I am not supporting Ghazanfar, but at the same time we should not forget that others like Nazir Sabir were also in power in the past, what they did? Did they bring any change or did something differently? I dont think so.

Whoever the leaders are, wither Mir Ghazanfar or anybody else, people have too high expectations, which non of them could redress. This is not an issue of the northern areas. but if we look at this from a broader prospective, what happens in Pakistan, today PPP is in power, people voted for them, tomorrow there will be another party in power and the same people will be blaming PPP.

I would support Ghazanfar for the reason that he is the descendent of the Royal family and well known in pakistan. Atleast his personal relations could be utilized in a productive way. I think if Ghazanfar can call the President and get an appointment for himself only because of his personal relations, it can be beneficial for the area, Another may not be able to even meet the Secretary KANA.. (just an examle)

  5. Dear Junaid,
You seem me very Pragmatic person. Its great.I strongly agree that.
Look, the nations and communities who are getting real develoment have never never forgot their culture, identity and history. Its the only thing which keeps you united.
ok Mir Sahb couldnt do that much which would meet high expectations of our people but.To say he is unwilling to do or he wants people to be still underdeveloped or deprived is awrong perception of some youth I am talking to them. His Megesty Mir Gazanfar knows very well that if he doest do something for then next time how can he win. His achievments should slso be underlined not only the failures to meet high expectations.

  6. People want CHANGE and change requires an owe inspiring leader… a leader who can make a nation stand with him/her day and night. A leader who can fill people’s hearts with joy…inspire them to move in one direction. Bring a diverse nation together… make them stand together for the CHANGE…

Let us ask ourselves is there any body who could be……?

  7. We all know that the elected members of NALA have absolutely no power to govern, they cannot make laws, have little or no say on how much budget is allocated to Gilgit-Baltistan and how it is spent. Hence we should not be unrealistic in our expectations from whoever we elect. Let’s see what we can expect from our elected representative.

Firstly our representative should reflect and uphold the moral, ethical and cultural values of our society. The people of Hunza proclaim to be educated, honest and law abiding, so we should elect someone who has these qualities. That is why I liked Mr. Wazir Baig as a representative because he had these qualities and i am sure no one will argue against it. Unfortunately Mr. Ghazanfar lacks all these qualities and even an ardent supporter of him cannot claim otherwise. What is the point of being educated, honest and law abiding if you cannot elect a person with such qualities.

Secondly our elected representative should be able to communicate our reservations on the absence of our political and economic rights. Unfortunately Mr. Ghazanfar has neither the ability nor the stomach to take a stand on such issue.

It is very unfortunate that people still think we should elect a person just because he is well know in the power circles of Pakistan and can make an appointment with the President of the country, but has not ability to utilize his influence in a constructive manner.

  8. we a already a good leader Mir Of Hunza Ghanzaffar Ali Khan. we dont need a torizem Gide, and others which is in the List. JAB TAK SORAJ CAHND rAHAY gA
mIR GHANZAFAR kA nAME rAHAY gA

    wE NEED U IN cHUPERSON

  9. Dear Junaid and Hakeem,

Did any one benefit from the personal relations of Mir Ghazandar Ali Khan with the establishment so far??

Did we succeed in winning our rights because of Mir’s personal relations??

Any remarkable development due to these relations?? And if there is any developement, it is because of HI not because of Mir and his cronnies!

Moreover, there are more governmental development projects in other parts of Gilgit – Baltistan than Hunza, and do these areas have any Mir??

What is so overwhelming because of Mir’s presence in Hunza, could to tell people??

And you must know that the mining rights have given to different parties from Pakistan without the knowledge and consent of the people of Hunza only, why not other places?? Because of Mir?? You should be really happy about it!!

  10. Dear Raziullah Baig,
There are two kind of development one is bubble development other id strong and sustainable developmen t.We need our culture for the later one.And we need Mir as amouthspeak of our culture and traditions. He is the most unifying personon the ground.as far as the mines are concerned we are living in a country an the mountains, forests and mines and rengelands are owned by state.so no question if the state gives them on lease to any body,
i you or other may rise of heath an pollution problems and their compansations but we are legaly no authority to question state writ.
Therefore I say that we lost our status of being aprovince to asubdividion today when our educated people melt down out state of Hunza and celeberated it.Otherwise, the semi automomous State of Hunza could have more open land utility rights than todays subdivision.Because you have got no legal authority over your rangelands and mountains. So come out of your missunderstanding that they are owned by communities. Its sta ownership,we should however respect state laws because we are its people.

  19. dear shafiq,
its not the talking of state in the state
you were enjoying a position of Prrovnce, with the name of Hunza State .Itb is history.I am sure you born after 70s.And remeber I am not in favour to restore the poeition as stae (Provincve) because its unrealistic and imposible that a subdivision may be aprovince but it was.And I also dont want to discuss it was rong or right to be in current situation of course there are many oppurtuninities with it as well. But my point is to at least utilize this Mir Portfolio which the government State and People of pakistan recognize as Mir the title. And due to it he is given oppurtunity to communicate with higher ups inland and international. So its why I support Mir as our celebrated King.

  21. Dear Hakeem,

I have read ur opinions on different issues freqeuntly, it seems to me that ur a highly qualified person. When it comes to mir ghazanfar it makes me doubt.

We all love our king thats why we have chosen him so many times but he couldnt prove his ability as a politician. This is why we cant put our political future on stake anymore.

My dear ur right he can meet President of Pakistan anytime but i m sorry to say he cant ask anything politically for his people maybe he can ask for his own good. The problem is he cant speak the way he should.

Here is a piece of evidence to judge him as a political leader:

  22. Dear Sherali Sb,
I can guess you have done Masters in Urdu Lingusitics. And expects His Excellency to speak with Correct Urdu Grammer. But Correct Urdu or English for any body including a political leader who has his first language is aslavery approach.
I think except the Language it was an excellent traditional way to pay tribute to the Chief Guest,
No problem I found here.It was not apolitical procession but acultural sesssion.Very traditional, and entertaining Night with families, youth and the people. His Excellency did his best I appreciate Yes he can still improve his Urdu if he wants otherwise its more than enough

  23. Dear all!
Do you know what is authority and what is Power????
    Same??????
    Never!!!!!!!!!!!!
Authority is given by law and Powers exists within a person, means it refers to the abilities of a person relevent to his/her responsibilities by which he /she performs in solid way to acheive results and targets.
As for as leadership is concen there is not any single dimenssion to defind it. But the main quality of a leader is that he/she must has a vision and relevanty capabilities to attain it. secondly he/she sholud have ability to inspire people.

On the basis of views of you different guys about our existing so-called leader can you kindly inspire me that, is there any of these single quality according to our level and requirements??????
these leaders has authorities but not powers……

What is there any single solid performance???????
What is there vision is for atleast next 2 or 3 decades except slogens?????
One of the major accopmlishment is university (KIU) granted by Musharraf and these could not be able to keep it in their control???????
    Shaotages of electricity????????
Awareness of health and education in far flung areas??????????
    Sustainable development?????????
    Environmental protection???????
    Consenses among different relegions????????
Quota seats for medical and engineering, we have hundreds and thousands of eligible candidates bt seats for ony less than 100 students???????
    Business environment?????
    Role models as leaders?????

For all above issues, what are their accomplishments?????? at least initiatives??????

So be creative before claiming for their eligibility. If you will look towards reality then nobody is still eligible to lead and steer us.
Because we are not those people who listning slogens. But we are those people who are looking on solid performance and no body can play with our emotions.

  24. Dear Sarfraz,
Nicely you have put down all the ltheoratical ecture which ur Madam has given you yesterday. But whats reality andthe all factors to it needs a practical presense on the ground with peoples emotions.
You have disqualified all the Hunzukutz and try to bring your Madam who may have a vison for next 200 years and great slogans but my dear your suggestions are dangerous enough which want an overnight change .No way.People are living in a community they have a history emaotions attchments with their political traditions. So let them do and learn. They need nothing import,Time teaches.
