Pamir Times is the pioneering community news and views portal of Gilgit – Baltistan, Kohistan, Chitral and the surrounding mountain areas. It is a voluntary, not-for-profit, non-partisan and independent venture initiated by the youth.
How come a constituency has a population of 64 thousand and total voter of 61 thousand. It means that constituency has a one three thousand population that are under the age of 18.
It is an accepted fact that in Gilgit-Baltistan approximately 50% of the population is less than 20 years old. Hence the voters to population ratio should be about 50% as is the case with constituency of Hunza. I think Hunza is the only constituency where the figures for population as well as voters is true and correct. Perhaps the people of Hunza are honest while disclosing information during census.
It is very important that fresh voters list are prepared for all the constituencies so that all the constituencies get equal share of development funds.
