Light erosion of the spillway at Hunza Lake

Gilgit, May 6: Water kept flowing through the spillway at Hunza River lake, showing slight increase in discharge volume. The total inflow in Hunza River has been measured at 4650 Cusecs while the cumulative discharge, including seepages, is around 4850 Cusecs, according to informed sources.

NESPAK and other monitoring organizations have reported minor decrease, 1.5 inches, in depth of lake near the barrier.

The spillway is slowly eroding on left and right sides widening mouth of the spillway at a very slow pace.

    I am happy to hear this–hopefully there is not a weak spot in the dam.

    Thanks for the update. I’m sure it must be difficult waiting, but this is the slow erosion we were hoping for. Patience to all IDPs. Please stay off the road.
