Gilgit, January 30: Islam protects rights of the women by giving them very high social status. Protection of women rights is vital for social growth. Women in GB don’t get the rights of inheritance and no resolution has been brought to the GBLA in this regard, so far.

These views were shared by GBLA Speaker, Wazir Baig, while addressing a seminar held in Giglit today. The seminar was attended by MLA Mutabiat Shah, DSP Tahira, HRCP Coordinator Israrrudin Israr, Ijaz Hussain, Ijaz Ahmed Ijaz and Muhammad Tahir Rana, among others.

Speaking at the occasion MLA Mutabiat Shah said that the women in GB have progressed in a short span of time. He recalled the time when AKRSP had started hiring women for the first time. He maintained that women of today are empowered and they can fight for their rights.

DSP Tahira briefed the seminar participants about establishment of police stations for women in the GB region. She said that victims and survivors of violence of all kinds can contact the police stations established in all seven districts of the region.

Earlier, the participants were briefed about the history and progress of legislation regarding women rights in Pakistan, by DCE Coordinator, Sher Azam.

    the need to address the issue is to discuss the re-alocate the displaced person due to the attabad lake. these members seems helpless and non one hear to them even in their party and governemnt. their represetation is totally fool and useless
