Chitral: 22 years old student “commits suicide”, 10th grader killed by avalanche

Chitral, April 24:  A young boy Isa Zeeshan son of Esa Ali Khan resident of Parwak reportedly committed suicide in the jurisdiction of  Booni police station. 

According to details, 22 years old Isa Zeeshan son of Esa Ali Khan, a resident of Parwak Upper Chitral who was the final year student of Diploma Civil Engineering committed suicide according to reports.

Independent sources told this scribe that Isa Zeeshan had attempted to commit suicide last year also by jumping in the river but he was rescued.  This time he shot himself with a 12 bore gun. He was rushed to the Booni Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in highly injured condition but he passed away before reaching to the health facility. 

imagesIn this connection when scribe contacted Booni police official Shahabuddin, who denied the news of suicide. He said that the death was “accidental” and happened while the gun was being cleaned for duck-hunt. 

Shahabuddin of Booni police station confirmed that no FIR has been lodged so far and police interrogating different aspects of this incidence. After completing of inquiry First Information Report would be registered in this police station. 

Student buried under avalanche at Snoghur village 

In another fatal incident, a young boy named Akhtar Hussain son of Sardar Hussain from Snoghur village of Upper Chitral after being hit by a snow avalanche. The 10th grade student was hit by the avalanche in Saidan Deh (Village). His father Sardar Hussain and uncle Ali Murad confirmed his death on telephone from Snoghur.  However, the Booni police was not aware of the incident. 

Sardar Hussain told this scribe while talking from Snoghur on telephone that his son Akhtar Hussain was grazing his sheep and a heavy avalanche buried him alive. He said that the local people tried to dig through the avalanche debris but were only able to find his shoes. They appealed to the district administration to provide machinery for digging the body out.
