Acclaimed mountaineer Hassan Sadpara is no more

Islamabad/ Skardu: Renowned mountaineer Hassan Sadpara, 54, has passed away at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Rawalpindi. He was among the three Pakistanis to have climbed Mount Everest. He was the only Pakistani to climb six of the world’s highest peaks.

He had been awarded with Tamgha-e-Imtiaz for his mountaineering achievements.

He had been under treatment at the CMH after being diagnosed with blood cancer. Earlier he remained under treatment at private hospitals.

He is survived by his wife, 3 sons and a daughter. Sadpara’s real name was Hassan Asad. He belonged to a village called Sadpara, located between Deosai plains and Skardu city.

He also served as a trainer for the Gilgit-Baltistan Police. His body will be shifted to Skardu where he will be buried in his ancestral village.
