Fresh violence in Baseen locality of Gilgit, 4 dead

Gilgit, September 30: Four people are reported dead in fresh violence in Baseen locality of Gilgit city.
According to a private TV channel four people were killed and five injured when unknown assailants opened fire on a vehicle near leprosy hospital in Baseen. This fresh kililng spree takes the human toll in the city to eight people killed and over a dozen injured during the week.
Large contingents of police and other law enforcing agencies were seen patrolling after the fresh incident of violence.
Prime Minister Gilani is currently on a 2 days tour of Gilgit – Baltistan .

This is really a frustrating situation. The dilemma is this that when Gilgit- Baltistan is on the way to development, some external forces are trying to create differences among the people and the sectarian conflict in the area. This makes no sense at all and it is the responsibility of the people to try to understand that these interest-oriented people are playing a game and creating sunni-shai differences. It is a reality that we all believe in Islam, which teaches us that we should love each other and try to overcome our differences through dialogue and negotiation. Now this is the time to revive the acts of brotherhood from our Islamic history,acts of tolerance and peace.
