Woman killed in Baseen locality of Gilgit

Gilgit, April 2: A woman identified as Muniara was killed last night in Khari Muhallah of Baseen, Gilgit. According to details unknown people opened fire on Munira and her husband Ramzan when they came out of their house. Munira sustained fatal injuries and died on the spot while her husband remained safe.

During the last couple of weeks several incidents of firing on innocent people have taken place. The police was successful in arresting suspected murderers of Naib Tehsildar Akbar Khan. Many people have also been rounded up because of suspicious activities. It is pertinent to note that despite of investing millions of rupees daily on maintenance of various paramilitary forces the law and order situation in Gilgit remains highly vulnerable and uncontrollable.
