[Rain Floods] A bridge on KKH near Bisham has been washed away

Gilgit, July 29: The havoc played by heavy rains in parts of KPK province has resulted in blockade of Karakuram Highway. Reportedly a major bridge located at the northern endof Bisham city, near Mid Way Palace Hotel, has been washed away by flesh floods.
Parts of the KKH have also been destroyed as a result of the flood, it learnt.
Due to increased flow in River Indus many houses and hotels located at river banks in Bisham and adjacent areas have been evacuated to safer locations, according to a Bisham based hotel’s employee.
The torrential rains have also badly affected roads in parts of Ghizar district, including Punial and Ishkoman valleys.
According to Met department the rains are likely to continue on Friday as well.
