Violence brings life to a standstill in Gilgit city

Gilgit, August 1: The football skirmish triggered violence has taken two live during the last twenty four hours in Gilgit city, capital of the Gilgit – Baltistan region.

According to a survivor two men were shot dead at around seven on Sunday evening by unknown assailant near a PSO petrol station located at airport road. “I saw death from very close range”, an SMS sent to Pamir Times by the survivor who reports for a leading national newspaper read.

He also said that the markets were closed and fear ruled the streets of Gilgit. He said that security persons were not present when the assailants opened fire on the petrol pump.

According to another report terrorists opened fire on a vehicle near Yaadgar Chowk.
