Karachi, September 13: Opening ceremony of the Hunza – Gilgit Students Federation volleyball tournament was held at Aga Khan Gymkhana Karachi on September 12, 2010 on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. A total of  fourteen (14) teams from all parts of Hunza and Gilgit, along with two teams from Ghizer district, are participating in the tournament.

Speakers, including social worker Mirbaz Khan, advised the players to uphold spirit of the games and demonstrate fair play.

Winners on the first day were ASWO-Aliabad, Khanabad Super Star, Hunza Friends, Murtazaabad-Hassanabad United and BADA-Karimabad whereas Hussainabad Stallianz and Ghizer Eleven were already through to the quarter finals.

Cash prizes and medals and trophies were presented to the winning teams. All the runner-up teams.
