Gilgit, March 7: The Home Department of Gilgit – Baltistan has made arrangements to brief a team of Chinese experts who are visiting spillway of the dammed Hunza River tomorrow. According to credible sources, the Chinese team consists of 18 experts.

The Chinese team will be accompanied by officials of the Frontier Works Organization (FWO) and the Home Department of Gilgit – Baltistan.

It is pertinent to note that a population of over 25,000 people has been stranded in the Gojal Valley for the past 14 months, due to submergence of parts of the Karakuram Highway in the dammed Hunza River.

The Chinese experts are likely to devise strategy for partially draining the dammed Hunza River.
