Celebrating Peace in Gilgit

Gilgit, March 28: A Peace Mela (festival) was held in Jagir Basin are of Gilgit city. Large number of people from different walks of life attended the Mela and enjoyed the performace of singers and actors.
Expressing their views people appriciated the efforts of organizers. “Programmes like this are a great source of healthy activities”, a man who attended the event told this scribe. People have urged the organizers for holding more such programmes in future.
Addressing the gathering Muhammad Musa, Member PPP Central Executive Committee, who was chief guest at the occasion said, “We will have to unite against those elements who are involved in spreading sectarianism”.
“Shias and Sunnis can not eliminate each other and the only way forward is to adopt love and peace for mutual coexistence and survival”, Musa added.
He also announced that he would make arrangements for blood money for the heirs of those who lost their lives due to terrorism.
