Karachi: Nationalist leader from Gilgit-Baltistan shot dead

Karachi: Ashiq Hussin Mir, Central Chairman of Balawaristan National Youth Organization (BNYO) has been killed by unknown assailants in Karachi. The deceased belonged to Khomar locality of Gilgit.
He was, reportedly, killed near Zia-ud-Din Hospital in Karachi. He received 6 bullets, according to media reports.
This is the third case of murder of GBian political activists in Karachi during the last two years. Earlier this year, a PPP worker named Sultan from Punial (Ghizer), and a worker of MQM from Gilgit were also killed by unidentified assailants.
The murder has been condemned by different political parties and youth groups, including the Progressive Youth Front, in a message sent to the media representatives.
Cause of the murder could not be established immediately.
Local people have demanded a probe into the murder to unearth the facts and punish the criminals.
It is pertinent to note that law and order situation in Karachi has gone from bad to worst, with dozens of people being killed everyday.
