Hunza: Sufi Mehfil held as part of the Eid-e-Milad celebrations

Aliabad, January 5: The Hunza Arts & Culture Council (HACC) organized a “Sufi Mefil” on 5th January to commemorate Eid Milad Un Nabi. The program took place at the Kiran Auditorium Aliabad Hunza, where people from all walks of life participated.

The Sufi Mehfil was a real experience, the music, naatia Kalams, Qawalis  and a special energy, we have never felt before in the Hunza Valley.  HACC managed to provide a genuine and unique opportunity to the guests and the community members.

 Mr. Asim Raza, the Assistant Commissioner of Hunza-Nagar was chief guest of the program. Mr. Zafar Abbas was guest of honor.

Mr. Salman Ali Tehsildar Aliabad, Mr. Sher Baz Khan Manager Baltit Fort Hunza, Mr. Aziz Jail Superintendent, Mr. Ghulam Abbas Nasim a renowned poet and many other eminent guests were present at this occasion.

Spiritual devotion was certainly present in the deep and wondrous musical performances by the male and female Artists from Hunza.

 The large gathering, while battling severe icy cold weather, burst into thunderous applause when Mr. Islama Habib, Naveed Tanha and Noshad presented Sufi songs. The audience was spellbound at the items presented by the Artists.

Chief Guest Mr. Asim Raza appreciated the program very well. He highlighted the significance of the occasion for the promotion of Islamic values and message of love, Unity, justice and peace. He further said that same kind of programs will be encouraged and assisted by him and by the government in future.

Tea and light refreshment was offered to the participants by the end of the program.

  1. Many many congratulations to hunza arts and culture council for organizing such unique programmes. This is the need of hour that we have forgotten the precious teaching of rehmatulil alimeen and consequently muslims have become victem of disintegration. If we love and obey the teachings of our serkar du alam we would never be losers and defeaters.
