Chilas: The curious case of ‘900 stolen goats and sheep’
Chilas, February 17: Residents of Thor valley, Diamer, have registered an FIR against the tribes of Harban today, accusing them of stealing as many as 900 goats and sheep from a pasture called Gandulu.
A group of the residents of Thor Valley complained that last night people belonging to the tribes living in the Harban area have stolen around 900 goats and sheep belonging to them from a pasture. The residents of Thor Valley said that their ancestors have been using the Gandulu pasture for grazing purposes for the last several centuries.
On receiving the complaint, the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Diamer, Rehman Shah, along with SP Naveed Khan and other administration officials held a meeting with the elders of Harban in Chilas. In the meeting the elders of Harban condemned the alleged act of thievery. They said that it might be the act of an individual or some individuals.
They also said that the people of Harban and Thor have been living in peace and harmony for centuries. They assured the administration of their full support in investigation of the case.
