Health department starts boat ambulance in Attabad Lake
Hunza, December 23: The Hunza Nagar administration has decided to start the USAID- donated boat ambulance service in Attabad Lake to facilitate the mobility of the people of Gojal-Upper Hunza during the harsh winter.
Talking to media, DHO Hunza Nagar Dr.Sher Hafiz said that the ambulance boats were used to save the precious lives of the people of Gojal. This year one boat will be used to ferry the local commuters while the second boat will only be used 24/7 as ambulance to serve the patients. He said the health department has served more than 45 patients and many accident and delivery cases through these ambulances. He strongly denied the use of these ambulances for VIP purposes.
District Administration Hunza-Nagar has taken over the ambulance boat to use it for the convenience of women, children and senior citizens during these harsh winters. We are ensuring that fare remain at par with other boats that is Rs. 70/- only. There will be four round trips from Shiskine to Attabad and back from 0830 am ton 0430 pm.
