PRCS supporting earthquake affected people in Darel and Phandar
Gilgit: Pakistan Red Crescent Society’s Gilgit-Baltistan branch has reached out to the earthquake victims by providing shelters and winterized tents to more than 160 families of Phandar and Darel valleys.
According to a press release, issued by PRC provincial headquarter Gilgit, the Pakistan Red Crescent provided shelters to 45 completely displaced families of Phandar valley district Ghizer and provided the same packages to the earthquake victims in Darel valley of district Diamar in the first phase of its relief operation in the 26th October earthquake affected areas.
Moreover, 70 partially affected families in Darel valley have been provided winterized tents followed by the relief operation.
“The earthquake affected families both the valleys have also been provided blankets, tarpaulin sheets, stoves, kitchen set, water cans and other domestic usage things” read the press release.
Pakistan Red Crescent has been proactively working in Phandar and Darel valleys since occurrence of devastated earthquake followed by its relief operation and will stand behind the victimized families until their rehabilitation” said PRC Provincial Secretary Noor-ul-Ain while addressing the to the victims at Phandar valley.
She said that the PRC has provided 90 shelters to the homeless in the first phase of its relief operation while rest of the completely displaced families will soon be provided shelters and other relief items.
