ATC awards death sentence to six involved in attack on security forces in Darel

Gilgit (December 29): An Anti-Terrorism Court sentenced six proclaimed offenders to death on three counts for their involvement in an attack on security forces in Darel valley of district Diamer.
ATC Judge Raja Muhammad Shahbaz Khan also imposed a fine of Rs 300,000 on the six men identified as Shah Faisal, Khalil u Rehman, Amir Hamza, Bashir, Shafa u Rehman and Musa.
The accused were involved in an attack on security forces on 17 March 2016 in Darel valley in which 2 security personnel Atif and Shaukat had embraced shahadat. In the suicide attack the attacker Hazrat Noor had also killed his wife and daughter and 2 other women were injured. The six accused were also involved in another attack in which 4 security personnel were critically injured. A joint investigation team was formed and on the findings of the JIT the ATC Judge Raja Muhammad Shahbaz Khan sentenced the six men to death on three counts and imposed a fine of Rs.3000, 000.
This is the first court verdict in GB under the Protection of Pakistan 2014 act.
