Master Ibadat Shah, one of the earliest teachers of Gojal Valley, is no more
GULMIT: Master Ibadat Shah, one of the earliest teachers from Gojal Valley of District Hunza, passed away today in Gulmit, his native village.
Born in 1943, Master Ibadat Shah taught thousands of students from all parts of Gojal Valley, Hunza. He chose teaching as a profession during his youth and remained committed to his mission throughout his life.
He was a renowned religious and social leader, serving the community throughout his life as a volunteer, dedicated to the holistic development of the region.
German anthropologist and author, Sabine Felmy, in her book “The Voice of The Nightingale” called him the “Teacher of Teachers”.
He remained under treatment after kidney failure in Abbottabad for a couple of years.
Master Ibadat Shah was laid to rest in Gulmit today in the presence of thousands of people from across the region.
