10 people belonging to Ghulkin and Gulmit named in FIR against black day protesters

Hunza, January 10: According to informed sources 10 people belonging to Gulmit and Ghulkin have been named in an FIR registered against those who protested on January 4, 2011, in the Tehsil Headquarter of Gojal Valley.

Four of the people belong to Ghulkin while 8 hail from Gulmit. The FIRs have been registered under 4 bailable sections, according to the source.

One of the sections pertains to violation of section 144 reportedly imposed by the District Administration through Tehsil Magistrate.

Those named in the FIR are, Salman, Niyat Ullah and Muzaffar Bhai from Ghulkin,  while Abdul Rauf, Sher Ahmed, Aziz Muhammad, Ghulam Nasir, Aslam Ahwal, Raza Baig and  Aslam Shah from Gulmit.

  2. These absurd actions; depriving and suppressing the people, it reminds the worst dictatorship era of Zia ul Haq when voices of the people were suppressed by power. This is conspiracy against the peaceful region…The human rights activists; media and civil society organizations should play their due role against these forces…
