People in Gojal Valley have demanded introduction of ATM services in Sost and Gulmit. “We request Al-Fallah management to introduce ATM service in the valley”, Mohsin Shah of upper Gojal told this scribe. He said that people from the disaster hit region are forced to travel to Aliabad for sending and receiving money. “Soneri Bank has a branch in Aliabad but that after blockade of the KKH in January 4, 2010, travelling out of Gojal has become a nightmare for us”, Mohsin Shah, whose son and daughter are outside the region for education and job, said.
The local people have for long being demanding introduction of ATM service in the region but no bank has shown any interest in this regard, so far. With Al-Fallah bank’s decision to open more branches in the region, people have started hoping that they might get ATM service in the disaster hit valley.
