Fresh snow disrupts life in Gojal valley
by: Zulfiqar Ali Khan
Hunza, Jan 27: Heavy snowfall for the third consecutive days has disrupted normal life in Gojal valley. The snow started falling Saturday evening and continued till Tuesday morning, piling up about 8 inches in lower parts and up to 17 inches deep in upper parts of Gojal valley. Central and lower Hunza has also received considerable rain during the same time. The frequent and irregular power cuts have further exacerbated the miseries of people.

It really looks fantastic but will be difficult for living in such a cold condition, also drivers on KKH from Hunza to Gojal should keep the danger of that mountainous road in mind and drive smoothly. Thanks to Zulfi for providing picture updates of our area from time to time.

Dear Zulfiqar, fabulous pics, this is exactly the aspect of NAs that I have been missing. However i want to know and my only question is: does it always snow like this or is it unusual this year. I would also want to know if the frequency of variations in the weather pattern has increased and what are the new observations (local perspectives)
