Damaged bridge on KKH opened for light traffic

HUNZA, March 19: The China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) opened the damaged bridge (Mir Sukord), on KKH, near Khyber village in Gojal, for light vehicular traffic, on wednesday afternoon. A  pillar of the bridge was damaged and dislocated by massive landsliding on Tuesday, resulting closure of KKH for all types of traffic.

It is feared that heavy traffic could further damage and collapse the bridge.

Abdullah Jan, Director NHA has visited the site in order to speed up the maintenance activities.
