Pamir Times Report

Sost, October 09: The Khunjerav – Karachi Peace Walk has been very well received throughout the course of Journey, so far. Young and old, men and women, can be seen standing in small and large villages of the valley as Asghar and Ejaz Rumi tread the paths of peace, carrying small white flags, with the word PEACE sewed in green.

Today, the walk started early the morning as Ejaz and Asghar took their first step toward Aliabad, having spent the night in Ahmedabad Hunza. They visited Altit Fort, where they were greeted by representatives of Altit village and the fort administrators. Floral garlands were offered on behalf of the local communities, as a token of appreciation and a symbol of solidarity.

The two walkers then proceeded to Aliabad Hunza, commercial capital of the valley. They also talked to a group of people who had gathered to welcome the two walkers.

Later, they moved towards Hindi (Nasirabad), where they would spend the night.

  10. The journey of thousand miles begins with a single step. This is outstading indeed. The two youngsters convey much greater message to the nation as well as the world. The most precious thing that has become so rare in this world is PEACE. Let us bring peace and other things will follow.

I would advise both the youngsters to document their experieinces and one day that can take shape of a book for the generations to get inspiration.

Wish you all the best Rumies and May God Bless you (Aamin)
