Nationalist activists exiled from Gilgit
PT Report
Islamabad, April 27: At least seven leaders and workers of the Gilgit – Baltistan Democratic Alliance (GBDMA) and All Parties National Alliance (APNA) have reportedly been forcefully exiled from the territory of Gilgit city today.
According to information gathered by Pamir Time among the forcefully exiled leaders are two sons of Col. Hassan Khan, one of the heroes of Gilgit – Baltistan’s war of independence. Also included among the exiled leaders is Shafqat Ali Inquillabi, former spokesman of Balawaristan National Front (BNF).
Progressive Youth Front and Balor Labor Party have condemned the act terming it a dictatorial action. Talking to Pamir Times Baba Jan, leader of PYF, said that the decision of the so-called democratic government of Gilgit – Baltistan to force sons of the soil out of Gilgit is a blot on the face of democracy and the rights of freedom of speech, expression and peaceful political activities.
Some analysts have termed the decision to be a violation of the UNCIP rules.
If you once forfeit the confidence of your fellow citizens, you can never regain their respect and esteem. It is true that you may fool all of the people some of the time; you can even fool some of the people all of the time; but you can’t fool all of the people all of the time.
We condom the forceful exile of our leaders and we are asking for their quick and safe return. Instead the government should listen their demands and act as early as possible.
