Rain water destroyed hundreds of bags of flour received from China
PT Report
Sost, September 7: Poor management has resulted in loss of thousands of kilograms of flour recently donated by the Chinese government as part of relief goods.
The flour had been dumped in the open sky and covered by tarpaulin. Heavy rains yesterday night destroyed hundreds of flour bags yesterday as the thin tarpaulin failed to provide any protection.
The local volunteers have rented a hotel building for safekeeping of the remaining flour bags. The flour could not be delivered to villagers in Khyber, Shimshal, Passu, Hussaini, Ghulkin, Gulmit and Shishkat because of the blockade of Karakuram Highway near Ghalapan where a strategic bridge was washed away during recent rain floods.
A group of volunteers from some of the above named villages will be going to Sost for transferring the flour bags to the rented hotel building for safekeeping till restoration of the KKH.
Work on construction of the Ghalapan Bridge has been progressing at snail’s pace for weeks.
No Whom is to be blamed for this??? Govt Again?Who is Responsible? Why there is no Check and blance With Everything?
