GB government gets 310 million for rehabilitation of displaced families in Hunza Valley

Hunza, Oct 07: The Gilgit-Baltistan Government has received PKR 310 million from the Federal Government for rehabilitation of the families displaced in Hunza valley due tot he landslide.

According to sources, the funds have been transferred as part of the Prime Minister’s special package in which PKR 400,000 will be paid for completely damaged houses and Rs 160,000 for partially damaged houses. Those who have lost their lands will be given PKR 200,000 per households.

Furthermore, the GB Government has transferred PKR 10 million to Directorate of Education as part of the educational assistance for the students of the disaster-hit areas.  According to sources, the directorate has demanded more than double of this amount and the Government has also assured to provide funds, when available.

Similarly, the representative of Khushali Bank has reached Hunza to distribute PKR 12.8 million among 132 business entities directly suffered from landslide and lake in Attabad and Gojal Tehsil.
