25 IDPs trained by AKRSP

Aliabad, October 30: Aga Khan Rural Support program’s emergency field office, Gulmit, has successfully completed one month training of 25 IDPs, held at Aliaabad, Hunza.

The training was part of AKRSP’s efforts to revive livelihood means of the families displaced due to damming of the Hunza River as a result of a mega landslide at Attabad earlier this year.

The certificate distribution ceremony was also attended by GBLA technocrat Mutabiat Shah, Dr. Khuwaja Khan of the Ismaili Regional Council for Hunza, DC Hunza – Nagar, SP Hunza – Nagar and representatives of AKRSP and AKBPS.

The participants were trained for one month as plumbers, electricians and stove makers.

AKRSP has initiated various programs in the region for economic revival. The Emergency Field Office established at Gulmit has been highly instrumental in implementation of these projects.
