Three blasts in Chilas, no casualties

Girls schools and religious place attacked

GILGIT, January 15: Three cracker blasts shocked the residents of Chilas city, headquarter of Diamir District, at around 01:30 AM last night. Two of the blasts occurred at girls schools and one in the compound of an Ismaili Community Center (Jamat Khana). No casualties have been reported.

Four rooms in the schools have been damaged while the compound wall and door of the prayer hall have been damaged and its window glasses shattered.

Whether the attacks were targeted or random could not be established immediately.

It is pertinent to note that girl schools have been targeted in Diamir District in the past also.

  2. the news is kinda confusing, so the Jamat Khana was in chilas? i never heard before that there is any jamat khana in Chilas? can someone tell the exact location of JK?

  3. its not only a new kind of attack but a threat to the peaceful Ismaili community in the region. they should take security care around their community centers.

  4. i strongly condemn this hectic act i think this an alarm to us to the people of GB to be arouse. we should take some bold steps to prevent such peace destroying act’s before it will happen again.. we should stop them now the time has come to think it about very sensibly….
