Disaster averted – Cement laden boat sinks in Gojal Lake, 7 commuters rescued safely

Shishkat, April 29: A boat carrying 7 commuters and a load of Cement bags has reportedly sunk in the Gojal Lake, formed due to damming of the Hunza River.

According to police sources, water flew into the boat after a hole developed in it. The seven commuters were rescued safely but the boat disappeared in the 360 feet deep lake.

The incident took place near Ayeenabad. The boat belonged to a businessman, according to reports.

Details of the rescue mission were unclear at the time of filing of this report.
