1 person killed and 5 injured in Chitral road mishap

CHITRAL: One person was killed and five others badly injured when a passenger Jeep fell in a deep ravine, in Chitral.

According to Ayun Police an ill fated Jeep bearing registration number DMR 1142 fell into a deep ravine while coming from Birir to Ayun village carrying some passengers from the scenic Kalash valley. One person died on the spot while five others were badly injured. The injured people have been shifted to nearest hospital. According to police information, Faqir Khan son of Danyal Khan resident of Birir valley died on the spot while Abdul Rahim, Tameer Wali, Muhammad son of Islam, Ihsanul Haq and Muslim Baig residents of Birir were injured badly.

Poor condition of the road is being termed as a major reason behind the tragic accident. All roads linking to the three valleys of Kalash region, namely Birir, Rumboor and Bumborat, are in dilapidated conditions which always lead to road accidents.
