Gilgit - Baltistan

Tanzeem Ahl-e-Sunnat presents three point formula for constitutional rights

Asim Iqbal

March 4: Tanzeem Ahle Sunnat(TAS) has presented three points formula to get constitutional rights for the region and demanded of the government to implement one of its suggestions to meet the long run demand of the people of Gilgit Baltistan.

According to details a meeting of TAS was held yesterday, presided by Maulana Qazi Nisar. Participants of the meeting reviewed the over all situation of the region and termed the Kohistan Tragedy a conspiracy against the stability of Gilgit Baltistan.

All the participants were of the view that the foreign hand was involved in the massacre of innocent passengers. They demanded of the government to arrest the murderers, as maintenance of law and order is its foremost duty.

Addressing to the meeting Maulana Qazi Nisar said that Gilgit-Baltistan, Kohistan and Chitral should be made into a single constitutional province.

Qazi Nisar said that if GB can not be made a province than the region should either be annexed with Azad Kashmir or directly controlled through Islamabad, on FATA patterns, with representation in the national parliament.

Criticizing to the present self governance order he said that present set up was not in accordance with the aspirations of the people. He said governor ship was a right of Ahle Sunnat and a representative of Ahle Sunnat should be appointed as governor.

  1. Why qazi did not ask about swat? Chitral kohistan people should vote the majority vote should be favored.
Yaha khan merged swat dir chitral kohhistan with khyber pakhtunkhwa. They did not belong with pakhthunkhwa.

Hazara people will want to merge as well. There will alot of tension between kp & gb.

Gilgit deserve seat in parliament & nfc fare share.
Why are we highlighting held kashmir & doing nothing but occupying kashmir.

gilgit kashmir should have representation in parliament.

People voted these leaders in kashmir gilgit, they should be in parliament.

I think pakistan should decide once for all. what is ‘k’ acronym in pakistan.

Pakistan should define ‘k’ acronym because it is important for pakistan struggle & kashmir dispute.

‘A’ acronym finally won hearts in khyber pakhtunkhwa.

Pakistan struggle & kashmir struggle is united as one. So is ‘k’ acronym.

  2. OMG…. this is simply a baseless statement … can someone ask from him that what is the history of GB. Qazi you have to read the traditions of GB before going to preach the Religion. Religion is not the part of state. if you are really showing sympathies with GB people then try to resolve the sectarian violence in GB. We have to understand the situations of GB through history before going to any baseless statement. you are not politically aware of GB. thanks for your three point formula for constitutional rights.

  3. Clearly a formula to turn Ahl-e Sunnat into a majority in GB. Definitely not something that will guarantee peace, especially with him being the boss.

  4. Qazi sahib is absolutely right, People of Kohintan & chitral belong to Gilgit baltistan ,they share comman culture, heritage ,language & enthicity, there is no such link of these regions with KPK, they must be annexed back to their original historical position. Only by this was people of this region will get true representation.
“Comrade” knows nothing of history of GB or just showing his baise for a particular sect. my answer is
1.Kohistan. ppl of upper kohistan speak shina, have same tribes as people in Gilgit , they have more claim on Gilgit then people of Nagir & Baltistan who neighter speak the language of gigit nor share ethinic background with people of Gilgit , actually their claim is based on religion not that of Kohistani ppl.

    2. Chitral. was part of GB throughout history, ppl of Chitral share language with ppl of upper ghaizer, they are from same tribes & have same culture.they have no such link with KPK.

for Sajid I say that this formula will ensure equal share for sunnis & ismailies as well. & sajid if u do,t like sunni majority then ,do,t live in islamabad, lahore & karachi . I know hypocrates like u claim brotherhood with ppl in lahore, islamabad & karachi. But change altogather when reach GB, ppl like u are the main cause of problem.

  5. Dear colleagues, let me share to you this beautiful quote;

“We have the ability to achieve, if we master the necessary goodwill, a common global society blessed with a shared culture of peace that is nourished by the ethnic, national and local diversities that enrich our lives.” –Mahnaz Afkhami (Iranian-American Human rights activist; b. 1941)

In today’s world we live in a deep interconnected and interdependent world. Only those, communities and societies are successful, who aim to achieve together.

  6. Sorry to say it seems joke for me…Indeed i have great respect for my brothers belongs to Ahly sunnat. I think we must revisit our past to know who were the real defenders of GB? Either they belong to Kohistan or chitral? or the Great people of Hunza, Nagar and Gilgit.. I think we must acknowledge this reality that real stack holders of GB are its natives..neither those who came after 48.one of my brother mention above that the people of Hunza Nagar are not common in their langauge with the people of Gilgit except religion or sect base,i think you are not much aware about the geographical and cultural connections between the people of Hunza Nagar and Gilgit. In Nagar 50% and in Hunza 25% Baltistan 30% people are shina speaking people.

  7. “He said governor ship was a right of Ahle Sunnat and a representative of Ahle Sunnat should be appointed as governor.”
From this statement one can judge his level.
Keep your suggestions with you, we don’t need the “naswar” brained people of kohistan.

zarar puniali: Study the history of independence of Gilgit, you will come to know about people of Hunza-Nagar.
